Mike Hamel, Executive Personal Trainer

Education:  B.P.E. specializing in Kinesiology, University of Lethbridge.
Certification:
NCCP Powerlifting Coaching Level 2, Level 1 TPI golf instruction (Titleist Performance Institute).
Background/Experience:
I started racing motocross in my early twenty’s, then transitioned into motorcycle 1/4 mile drag racing. I got into Traditional Tae Kwon Do(TKD), and soon found myself a Black-belt and studying Physiology.  I fell in love with Anatomy/Biomechanics and Kinesiology.  I did 3 years gymnastics, 2 years 10m diving, 4 years Powerlifting, and 5 years bodybuilding (life-time drug free).  I have been a Personal Trainer since 1990, but since 1985 and during my Personal Training career I taught traditional TKD.  I later turned the TKD into more of a street self-defense/awareness class.  I’ve studied nutrition extensively since 1988.  I recently took up golf in 2007 followed by training in Mesa in Dec 2010 for my TPI  Level 1 golf teaching certificate.
Philosophy:
To help people say “I can” and not say, “I can’t.” I love seeing people attempt, do and succeed at exercises/sports they never thought they could ever do, and do them well.
Personal Interests:
I am passionate about training/diet, kick-boxing/MMA, and my biggest love is now golf.
